A food photographer in Geneva has one job: making the dish ordered before it is read. On a menu, on a delivery platform, on a storefront or in a post, the image comes before the text and it decides on its own.
I shoot in natural light, on site, during or outside service. The plate leaves the kitchen, it is shot within two minutes, it goes back. No fake syrup, no white glue, no spray bottle: what is in the frame is what the guest gets at the table. A restaurant that promises more than it serves collects three star reviews.

FAQ
What people ask most.
Does the restaurant have to close for the shoot?
No. I usually work in the morning or between two services, on a free table near a window. For a full menu, allow half a day and one cook available to send the dishes in the agreed order.
How many dishes can be shot in half a day?
Between twelve and twenty depending on plating complexity. The limit is not the camera, it is the pace at which the kitchen can send.
Do you work in the studio or on site?
On site for everything tied to service and atmosphere. In the Cointrin studio for fine grocery packshots, jars and packaging, where the background has to be controlled.
How much does a food shoot in Geneva cost?
From CHF 400 for half a day and around ten retouched dishes. The final quote depends on the number of images and the usage rights, especially if the visuals go to outdoor or paid campaigns.
Who plates the food on the day of the shoot?
Your chef, in your own kitchen. That is what produces the best images, because the plating stays yours. We arrive an hour early to set up the light, then each plate is photographed within two minutes of leaving the pass.
Do we need a food stylist?
Rarely for a restaurant, which already has its own plating. For packaging, a food brand or a campaign, yes, and we then work with a Geneva based stylist. Styling is quoted separately and agreed in advance.
Are the images suitable for delivery platforms?
Yes. Smood, Uber Eats and Just Eat expect a square crop, a neutral background and a centred dish. We deliver a dedicated set for those platforms alongside the editorial images for your site and social feeds.
Do you also shoot cocktails and the wine list?
Yes, and they need different light from solid food: backlight, clean glass, visible condensation. Plan two or three of each cocktail, ice melts fast under lights.
How long does a session take on site?
Half a day for ten to fifteen dishes, a full day for a complete menu including starters, desserts and drinks. The pace depends mostly on how fast the kitchen plates.
Do you also shoot video for Instagram and TikTok?
Yes, in the same session. Vertical shots of plating, pouring and slicing are filmed between two plates without lengthening the day. The short edit is delivered with the photographs.
Can the images be used for printed menus and posters?
Yes. Files are delivered at full resolution, without watermark, with the usage rights set out in the quote: site, social, print, display. Uses agreed from the start cost nothing extra.
