Jewellery photography is a job of light
A piece of jewellery reflects everything: the window, the ceiling, the lens, the photographer. A successful jewellery photograph is won at capture, in the way the reflections are built, not three hours later in software.
Gold, silver, steel, transparent stones and matte stones do not call for the same lighting. I work in controlled light, often with focus stacking so the ring is sharp from the setting to the shank, and I deliver files where the metal colour is faithful rather than flattering.

What people ask most.
Is the clipping path included?
Yes, on packshot and e-commerce assignments. You get the file on white and the cut-out version on transparent ground, ready to sit on any page colour.
How are the pieces protected during the session?
The pieces stay under your responsibility and you are welcome to stay for the whole session. For high values I come and shoot in your workshop rather than at the studio.
Do you shoot worn jewellery?
Yes. Either with a model you bring, or with a simple casting I arrange. The model budget is listed separately in the quote, never folded into a package.
How many pieces per day?
Around thirty references in simple packshot, around fifteen if each piece needs several angles and focus stacking.
How do you avoid reflections on gold and stones?
With softboxes and black flags placed out of frame, which draw the reflection instead of enduring it. Gold wants a large soft source, a diamond wants a small hard one so the fire appears. Every material has its own setting.
Do you shoot on model as well as packshot?
Yes. The packshot sells the piece, the worn shot gives scale and desire. We work with Geneva based hand and fashion models, or with your own staff if you prefer to keep it in house.
Are images delivered cut out on white?
Yes, clipping is included for packshots. You receive the cut out file on white, the file with a drop shadow and, on request, a transparent PNG for your own layouts.
How many pieces can be shot in a day?
Twenty to thirty references as a consistent packshot set, fewer if each piece needs its own lighting or a styled scene. A homogeneous collection moves faster than a mix of materials.
How are the pieces transported and insured?
Most often you bring and take back the pieces the same day, which removes any question of custody. If pieces stay at the studio they are kept in a safe and insurance is agreed in writing before the session.
Do you shoot 360 degrees and macro video?
Yes. 360 degrees suits rings and watches for product pages, moving macro suits social. Both are filmed in the same session as the stills.
Do you work for watchmakers?
Yes. A watch is the most demanding subject in this category: a dial with no stray reflection, hands positioned, strap tensioned, indices sharp edge to edge. Allow more time per reference than for jewellery.
