What you keep from a day that goes too fast
A wedding photographer in Geneva does not sell photographs, he sells the one thing from that day which is not taken down the next morning. The flowers wilt, the venue is handed back, the cake disappears. The images stay, and they will be looked at far longer than the day itself lasted.
I work reportage style, on silent shutter, never standing between you and your guests. I direct where it is needed, for the couple portraits and the groups, and I stay out of the way the rest of the time. The frames that matter are almost never the ones where people are posing.

Civil, religious or humanist. I work on silent shutter and at a distance, never blocking your guests' view.

And if it all starts with a proposal
Before the wedding, there is the question. It lasts thirty seconds, and usually nobody has a camera: the one asking has shaking hands, and the one answering was not expecting it.
I set up beforehand, at a distance, on a long lens. You get the second of the yes, the hands, the ring, and a short couple session straight after, when nobody is thinking about posing any more. The images on this page come from a proposal staged by the sea, with a wall of roses and marquee letters.

What is included
The base package covers four hours, from the civil ceremony to the cake. It includes 200 retouched high resolution photographs, a private online gallery that can be downloaded and shared, delivery in four days with a first preview within forty-eight hours, and travel within Geneva at no charge. CHF 1,890 net, no VAT.

Would you like the film too?
Photography keeps the look, film keeps the voice. Shot on the same day by the same studio, the two together cost less than two suppliers who never speak to each other, and spare you a tripod in every photograph.

What couples ask
How much does a wedding photographer in Geneva cost?
At Chinou Eye, four hour coverage is CHF 1,890 net, with 200 retouched photographs, the private gallery and travel within Geneva included. Each additional hour is CHF 390.
How many photographs do we get?
200 retouched high resolution photographs in the base package. The gallery can be extended to 300 photos for CHF 390, or to 400 for CHF 790, if the day ran long and you want to keep everything.
How long until we get the images?
A first preview within forty-eight hours, so you have something to share while the day is still fresh, then the full gallery in four days.
Who owns the rights to the photos?
You do. The rights are yours in full, for any medium, with no time or territory limit. No image is published without your prior written agreement.
Do you photograph proposals as well?
Yes, and it is a service in its own right. I scout the location in advance, shoot on a long lens without being seen, and move straight into a short couple session afterwards. Delivered within forty-eight hours.
Do you travel outside Geneva?
Yes, across the canton, around Lake Geneva, into Valais and neighbouring France. Travel within Geneva is free, beyond that it is itemised, with no hidden margin.
Do you film the wedding as well?
Yes. The film is a separate service, described on the wedding videographer page, and it is shot on the same day as the photography.
How do we book a date?
A 50 percent deposit holds the date, the balance is paid on delivery. Saturdays from May to September usually go six to twelve months ahead.
Do you work alone or as a pair?
Alone for a wedding of up to eighty guests, which stays discreet and is more than enough. Beyond that, or if both partners get ready at the same time in different places, a second photographer is added to the quote.
Do you cover the civil ceremony and the religious service?
Yes, both, and they call for different approaches. The civil ceremony at the town hall lasts twenty minutes and is played to the millimetre. A religious service has its own rules: we ask the celebrant beforehand and we keep to them.
Do you offer a couple session before the wedding?
Yes, and it changes everything. An hour together a few weeks before is the moment you stop feeling awkward in front of the lens. The images also serve for invitations and the seating plan.
Is there an album and are there prints?
As an option. Layflat album, fine art prints, print box: the choice is made after delivery, once the selection is done. We work with Swiss labs, so allow three to four weeks for production.
What happens if you cannot come on the day?
The contract provides for a replacement from the Geneva network, at an equivalent level and rate, and a full refund if no solution suits you. It has never happened, and it is planned for all the same.
Do you photograph weddings outside Switzerland?
Yes. Neighbouring France, the rest of Europe and further afield. Travel and accommodation are added to the quote, the photography itself is unchanged.
Should we provide a meal for the photographer?
It is customary and it is useful: the guests' meal is the one moment when nobody wants to be photographed, so the one slot to draw breath. A plate at the same time as you is enough, no need for a place at the top table.
